ETSY FRONT PAGE

My sea urchin ring pillow made it the front page of Etsy! This was a fun one to make and it's so great to see it there. That little pillow found a nice new home in Florida, by the ocean like it probably always wanted. I am sure that it's settling in just fine.

Speaking of front pages on Etsy I wanted to share this treasury that I made last year before Valentine's Day, hence the red/heart theme. I did not include an item of mine because I wanted to do my best to showcase other artists. It was early in the morning when I first saw this on the front page. I was so thrilled when it was chosen that I didn't need any caffeine at all that morning and that really says a lot.

VINTAGE BROOCH WITH BEADED FEATHER FRAMING

It has been a while since I have had a new beaded feather style to show. Just finished this today and sent the pictures off to the client for approval. I love the rhinestone piece in the center. It is a gorgeous wreath design and the rhinestones have so much fire! It is difficult to capture that kind of brilliance with the camera. I am sure that it's quite a frustration to the jewelry and tiara maker!

MORE SOMETHING BLUE

I have talked about my fondness of working with vintage materials before. I love the element of history that they add to an item. Here is a gorgeous pillow to add to the "Something Blue" category and also has some of that history that I love. It is white dupioni silk, imported double face satin ribbon and a gorgeous vintage embroidered blue trim that I acquired some time ago. I think this is so sweet and adorable. This pillow measures about 7 inches square.

Below we have a blue dupioni silk pillow with a vintage velvet ribbon layered over a satin ribbon. I had to top this with some pretty blue hydrangea. Measures about 8 inches square.

DREAMY AFTER DUSK WALKING

Have you ever taken a stroll in the summer evening and just thought that the atmosphere could not be more perfect? The warm night air, soft lights and most of all the quiet night. I could not resist so here is a picture taken with my cell phone camera. This is one of those moments that I wish could last so much longer but everything must pass to make way for new adventures.

SOMETHING BLUE

A smaller pillow that measures 5 1/2" square but you can also special order this in a 7x7 size.
These little pillows are great for the very young ring bearer. Or if you have two ring bearers that are different ages you can order the same pillow in two different sizes. Way too cute for words.

A full bow pillow with silver beaded details. you can also order this one in two different sizes as well. The silks on these pillows are luminous and the blue is that perfect eye catcher.

CUSTOM FLOWER GIRL BASKET

Here is a custom flower girl basket that I have been working on. It has details of rhinestones and pearls on each bow of the most supple satin you have ever felt. This basket happens to be made out of silk satin but could be ordered in dupioni or taffeta if needed.

I'LL GLADLY TAKE THIS BRONZE MEDAL

This is one of my personal pieces of jewelry and also one of my absolute favorites.

The antique art nouveau style bronze medal is dated 1930 on the back. I found it online searching for "antique bronze lion" of all things. It was in France when I happened upon it then, you just have to love the internet and global marketplace options. I relate to the woman on this medal. She is feminine yet strong and a bit guarded. She turns away from her shield and reaches for an olive branch as a new day dawns behind her. I later found the stone necklace that it is attached to in a thrift store. It was exactly what I was looking for to complete my newest outward expression of me. This is one situation where I will gladly take the bronze medal.

SEA URCHIN PILLOWS

The time comes in all our lives when we need a sea urchin ring pillow. Look it up, it's a fact. The purple pillow above was matched up to the perfect owner in Australia. I think it is so amazing that I collect these items from all over the map and then they are assembled and shipped all over the map. (How much fun is that!) It is quite the method of distribution. This is made with a real sea urchin and is very delicate. The one below was a special order for a store in Florida and is made with a sturdier faux urchin.

It is also more simple and restrained. The one below is much more complicated and has many elements to look at.

As you can see this has a lot going on. There are two types of ribbon, a sputnik sea urchin, rhinestones, freshwater pearl drop corners that are wrapped with silver glass beads, alencon lace applique, more glass beads on the urchin and so on. I really love the variety of styles that I get to make.
